EPHRAIM, UTAH-October 29, 2005-This one was over at halftime. Matt Asiata, a freshman running back from Hunter High School, ran 10 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the first half and quarterback James Pritchard added a 39-yard touchdown run as Snow College took an insurmountable 31-3 halftime lead. The Badgers went on to bury New Mexico Military 58-3.

Asiata scored the first and last Badger touchdowns of the first half - a 12-yard run in the first quarter and a 22-yard scamper late in the second quarter. His longest run of the game was a 28-yarder in the third quarter that set up a Pritchard touchdown pass to Clay Bayard. Asiata carried 16 times for 153 yards and didn't play in the fourth quarter. The Badger offense ran for 316 yards - 203 in the first half.

"For the second week in a row every unit contributed in a victory," said Titan Trimble, Snow's head coach. "I was particularly pleased with the offense this week. We scored on five of six possessions in the first half. Asiata was awesome." For the second time in as many weeks, Snow's special teams took the offensive. Late in the third quarter, Sean Matagi, a freshman from Cyprus High School, broke through punt protection to block a punt and recover the ball in the endzone. On the ensuing possession, Josh Crittenden, a freshman from Box Elder High School, recovered another blocked punt for yet another Badger touchdown and Snow led 52-3. Crittenden blocked a Scottsdale field goal attempt last week and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown earning Snow a 24-22 win.

Snow's defense - best in the Western States Football League, held the Broncos to 132 yards allowing just one field goal late in the first quarter. The Badgers give up an average of 13 points a game.

Snow travels to Glendale College next week for the WSFL championship. If the Badgers win, they'll face a top five opponent and perhaps play for the NJCAA Championship in the Zions Bank Top of the Mountains Bowl Saturday, December 3 in Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Badgers are 8-1 and currently eighth in the NJCAA Top 20.
