FIVE
BADGERS NAMED TO NJCAA 3 Badgers Named To First Team - 2 Second Team Running back Matt Asiata and linebacker J.D. Folsom were second-team selections from the Badgers. Cooper, who was named the Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Year, led the National Junior College Athletic Association in passing offense, total offense and touchdowns thrown. He passed for over 3,100 yards and 31 touchdowns. Manning was a perfect 51 for 51 in extra points for the regular season. He also kicked eight field goals en route to scoring 75 points. Tea was a preseason All-American selection and an anchor on a defense that allowed only 202 yards per game, 13th in the nation. Asiata is the conference’s leading rusher and scoring, rushing for 1,490 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season. Asiata’s numbers were good enough to make him the fifth leading rusher in the country. Folsom was a force in the middle for Badgers. He played a big part in Badger run and pass defenses and help hold opposing teams to 13 points per game on the season. The NJCAA player of the year selections and final NJCAA poll are forthcoming. “To have five All-Americans is a major feat,” said head coach Steve Coburn. “These are just a few of the players worthy of this honor. We had amazing season, and these players were some of those who made a difference.” Snow finished the season 10-1, ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA poll. The Badgers beat perennial power Coffeyville Community College 26-21 Saturday in the Zions Bank Top of the Mountains Bowl at Rice-Eccles Stadium. # # #
