Badgers Should Be Moving Up In The Polls
EPHRAIM- The Snow College Badgers took little time to jump out in front
of the Arizona Western Matadors during a 47-14 win Saturday.
Snow (9-1) dominated all elements of the game scoring on offense,
defense and a special teams safety in the first quarter alone to lead
23-0. By halftime, Snow was up 37-0 on the Matadors.
Running back Matt Asiata compiled 169 yards and one touchdown on 15
carries. Quarterback Cade Cooper hit eight receivers en route to a
21-27, 270 yard, four-touchdown game.
Arizona Western was ranked No. 19 in the nation before the team's
loss to Glendale Oct. 14.
With two team's in the NJCAA top 5 losing over the past week, and
Snow having defeated No. 5 Glendale in head-to-head action in Glendale
earlier this year, Snow is poised to move back up in the polls.
Snow finishes its regular season on the road at Phoenix this week. A
win will guarantee an outright Western States Football League conference
championship over Glendale. The Badgers have their bye week Nov. 11.
Snow leads the WSFL and the nation in total offense, scoring offense,
individual passing (Cooper) and individual passing touchdowns (Cooper).
In addition, Asiata leads the WSFL in rushing and is fifth in the nation
with 1,185 yards on the ground.
