DEFEAT OGDEN RAIDERS

Badgers Win Game 55-13
Snow College soundly defeated the Ogden Rhino Raiders 55-13 on Saturday,
but for those watching the game it was a lot like kissing your sister, no
big thrill.
A win is a win and for the fourth ranked Badgers the win will give some
needed momentum going into the regular seasons first game this week against
Pima CC. It was a game however that was apparent early to almost everyone
that it was not going to be a close contest.
The Badger offense bogged down on their
first possession and had to punt. The Rhino offense went no where and was
also forced to punt from their own endzone and the Badgers got their first
score when Adam Frandsen covered the botched snap.
"I was really happy with the take aways that we created and we capitalized
on them as well," said Head Coach Steve Coburn. "It's a challenge to play a
game like this and we had some challenges keeping our heads in the game and
focusing on our priorities."
Snow College scored again less than two minutes later on a 25 yard pass from
Cade Cooper to Devin Frischknecht. That touchdown was set up by a fumble
recovery by Thor Pili.
"I think one of the best things we accomplished were the adjustments," said
Coburn. "We had to make adjustments on both sides of the ball and I think we
were able to do that. The offense played much better in the second half and
the defense made them one dimensional for most of the game."
Just four minutes and many penalties later the Badgers scored again, this
time on a fumble recovery and return of 21 yards by Andy Davis. Snow
College opened up a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter when Cooper found
Cameron Webb open in the middle of the field for a 53 yard touchdown.
The Raiders made some noise at the end of the first half with two touchdown
passes, but that was the end of the highlights for the Rhino Raiders.
Despite the lopsided score the Badgers had fewer total yards 281-285
(unofficial) total offense.
Last weeks offensive player of the week Matt Asiata added a couple of
Touchdowns from three and one yards out. Cooper also found Troy Cummings on
a 19 yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and Zac Manning added a 42
yard field goal for the Badger scoring.
"I am really pleased with our kicking game so far," said Coburn. "Manning is
perfect on point after touchdowns and now he has a long field goal. Jeff
Wright has been punting really well and the improvements each week are
exciting."
Pima Comes to town this Saturday to face the Badgers at 1:30pm. KMTI-am 650 and SnowBadgers.Com
will have the game on the air with pre-game at 1:05pm.
