BADGER STATS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

Following bye week, Snows conference schedule really heats up

EPHRAIM, UT - The Snow College football team is not taking anything for granted.

Although the Badgers (4-0, 1-0) are the only undefeated team left from the preseason top 3, head coach Steve Coburn knows that his team is heading into the toughest stretch of its season.

Conference ball is always tough, said Coburn. This year its especially competitive.

Snow, currently ranked No. 2 nationally but likely to move up following a Blinn College loss Saturday, is one of five Western States Football League teams ranked in the National Junior College Athletic Association Top 20.

Snow not only stacks up well in the conference, but owns the country's No. 1 defense and No. 3 ranked offense. Snows rushing defense has allowed only eight total yards in four games, or 0.08 yards a carry.

Snows defense has really shined. The squad has given up only 75 yards a game, 53 yards per game less than the No. 2 defense in the county. That includes just 2 yard a game on the ground. The Badger defense has not allowed a single offensive point in the teams last three outings.

Snow quarterback Jon Eastman entered the weekend ranked No. 3 nationally in passing yards, second in total offense and tied for No. 1 in touchdown passes (9). Running back Soni Sotele has scored five touchdowns, tied for sixth in the nation, on just 41 carries.

Snow travels this week to No. 12 Mesa Community College (Arizona) for a 7 p.m. kickoff Saturday.
