The
Snow College football program has consistently produced players over
the years that are able to move onto the 4-year collegiate playing
level with many of those players starring for their new school. Some
have been able to take their playing days even further than the NCAA
as was the case this past weekend when former Badger, C.J. Ah You
was selected by the Buffalo Bills during this past weekend’s
NFL Draft.
Ah You was a star for the Badgers when he suited up
for them in 2004. Ah You was a starter from day one at defensive end
for Snow College and he wrecked havoc during his sophomore season.
During the 2004 campaign, Ah You posted 41 tackles, 9 sacks, 3 forced
fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 interception and an incredible 36
quarterback hurries. He garnered All-American and All-Conference recognition
and signed with Bob Stoops’ Oklahoma Sooners following the 2004
season.
While at Oklahoma, Ah You made an immediate impact.
Starting as a junior and senior, Ah You was recognized as the Big
12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year as well as being selected to numerous
All-Bowl Game teams for his performance in the Pacific Life Holiday
Bowl in which he was named the game’s defensive MVP.
As a senior, Ah You picked up 41 tackles with a team-high
4 sacks as well 8.5 tackles for loss.
“I am very proud of C.J. He was such a special
player for us and I am happy for his family. He made a huge commitment
to us after transferring from Brigham Young and that it all paid off
in the end speaks volumes for the type of person and athlete C.J.
is,” said Badger Head Coach, Steve Coburn.
C.J.’s older brother, Jasen Ah You, has served
as the Badger defensive line coach since 2004, which marked the year
C.J. joined the program as well.
