Snow Remains Undefeated, Prepares For Two Week Home Stand

The Nationally Junior College Athletic Association released its latest football poll and Snow College has increased its lead at the top.

Snow is ranked No. 1 nationally in the NJCAA/JCfootball.com poll taking five of seven first-place votes, up from four last week. Butler Community College (Kansas) is No. 2, with one first place vote. The complete poll is available at www.njcaa.org.

The Badgers had little trouble in Saturday's game, taking a road victory over then No. 12 Mesa, 48-17.

The win moved the Badgers to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Western States Football League. The loss was Mesa's first on the year.

Snow boasts the nation's No. 1 defense and No. 3 offense. In five games, the defense is allowing only 102 yards per game and 8.8 points, while the offense has put up 44.6 points and 442 yards per game.

"Right now, we are right where we want to be," said second-year head coach Steve Coburn. "We have some tough games coming up but we are happy to be back at home."

During Coburn's tenure at the helm, Snow is 15-1.

Snow will host Phoenix College (Arizona) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Badger Stadium in Ephraim. The game is the Badgers conference home opener. On Oct. 13, Snow hosts No. 10 ranked Glendale Community College (Arizona) at 1:30 p.m. at Badger Stadium. That game is the school's Homecoming game.
