SNOW COLLEGE INKS 21 TO
NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

Snow College looking to build off of their back-to-back 11-1 seasons and two top 5 national rankings added 22 players to their roster with this years recruiting class. Of the 22 players, 19 are Utahans and their contributions will be counted on heavily as the Badgers continue their place in Utah football as an annual national championship contender as well as the premier transfer school in the country.

“We wanted to add talent at every position. We were able to accomplish that. Utah players recognize this program is committed to them academically and athletically and because of this we have continued to add tremendous young men to our program,” said Snow College Head Coach, Steve Coburn.

Alex Froelich Defensive Back 5’10 185 Northridge HS

Andrew Carver Defensive Back 6’2 195 Riverton HS

Brayden Stembridge Linebacker 6’2 230 South Summit HS

Two-way starter for Jerry Parker at South Summit HS…1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune...98 tackles as senior and 847 rushing yards

Chad Wilson Linebacker 6’0 210 Layton HS

Helped lead Layton to 5A State Championship game…Started at LB and FB as senior for Lancers…100 tackles and 3 sacks…1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…played for Jim Batchelor

Cody Raymond Wide Receiver 5’10 175 Jordan HS

Three time 1st Team All-Stater in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune for Alex Jacobsen at Jordan HS…had over 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons for Beetdiggers

Devin Peterson Defensive Back 5’11 170 Logan HS

Jordan Anderson Linebacker 6’0 205 Alta HS

Helped lead Alta to 5A State Championship…played for former Snow Badger Les Hamilton…1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…Region 2 Defensive MVP while tallying 94 tackles and 24 tackles for loss

LeRoy Unga Running Back 5’11 215 Payson HS

2nd Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…rushed for 1255 yards as senior and had 9 touchdowns…played for Coach Woolstenhulme

Mark Ercanbrack Wide Receiver 5’11 180 Timpview HS

Helped lead Timpview to consecutive 4A state championships…was Salt Lake Tribune 4A MVP and 1st Team All-State in Deseret News…had 1369 receiving yards which led the state and 16 touchdowns…played for Louis Wong

Matt Putnam Defensive Back 6’2 185 Layton HS

All-Area for Reggie Torres’s Kahuku Red Raiders…will provide major building block for Badger offensive line

Quinn Meacham Quarterback 6’3 205 Timpview HS

Helped lead Timpview to consecutive 4A state championships…1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…threw for 2,735 yards and 25 touchdowns as senior…played for Louis Wong

Sam Langi Running Back 5’11 210 Bingham HS

Two-year starter for Coach Dave Peck at Bingham…1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…Helped lead Bingham to 5A State Championship in 2006…rushed for 1,814 yards and 22 touchdowns as senior

Saula Taufa Defensive Line 6’3 295 Manti HS

1st Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…had 37 tackles and 5 sacks as senior…played for Cole Meacham at Manti HS

Steve Thornton Offensive Line 6’3 270 Box Elder HS

2nd Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…played for Wes Roesler…will play center and guard for Badgers

Tonga Fisilau Defensive Line 6’2 265 East HS

1st Team All-Region performer for Aaron Whitehead…Tallied 26 tackles and 4 sacks for the Leopards

Trey Taylor Offensive Line 6’5 295 Crowley HS (Texas)

4A Honorable Mention All-State in Texas…played for Brad McCone…will help anchor Badger offensive line for next two seasons

Viliami Halasima Defensive Line 6’2 270 Timpview HS

Helped lead Timpview to consecutive 4A state championships…2nd Team All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…tallied 39 tackles and 3 sacks as senior…played for Louis Wong

Zac Enosa Defensive Line 6’4 250 American Fork HS

Honorable Mention All-State in Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune…tallied 30 tackles and 2 sacks as senior…played for Davis Knight

 

The Badgers, like all years, are not done with their recruiting efforts however as there are many big recruits in the state and elsewhere that are working towards qualifying through the NCAA. The Badgers have received commitments from many who signed with Division I-A programs on February 7th if they do not qualify through the NCAA clearinghouse.



Snow College, founded in 1888, serves approximately 3,000 students at its Ephraim campus. The college provides general education and applied technology programs leading to Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Pre-Engineering degrees, and certificates of completion in a number of occupational areas.  Once owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Snow College became a state college in 1932.
