No. 5 Badgers One Of Top Records In The Nation

EPHRAIM – Although the Snow College football team was not in action this week, a look at the numbers show the Badgers bye week was well deserved.

Snow (9-1, 7-0) boasts one of the top records in the country, despite a schedule which has including games against four teams currently ranked in the NJCAA top 20 and six teams which have been ranked at some point.

Following the Badger’s second week loss, Snow has won it’s games by an average of 22 points, including victories over three ranked teams. The Badgers get an opportunity to avenge that loss against No. 9 ranked Arizona Western on the road Saturday.

A few more facts about the Badgers include:

  • Quarterback Quinn Mecham leads the nation with 34 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions. He has passed for 2,584 yards and ranks in the top five in individual passing, total offense and total yards.
  • Tyson Church is one of only eight running backs in the country to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark on the season.
  • Snow ranks in the top 15 in rushing defense, total offense, passing offense, scoring kicking and many more categories.
  • For the fourth year in a row, head coach Steve Coburn has won at least 10 games (11 in each of his first three seasons). At 43-4, Coburn is one of the most winningest coaches in the nation for the past four years.

The Badgers have an opportunity to equal its win totals from each of the past three seasons and secure an outright Western States Football League Championship with a win Saturday at Arizona Western. As always, the game will be carried live at www.snowbadgers.com.
