When Dan Gerber was hired onto the Snow College staff at the beginning of the 2006 season, Coach Steve Coburn envisioned Gerber being able to make the tight end position a major force in the Badger offensive attack. In year 1, Gerber was able to accomplish that task.

Gerber, in his 1st season helped mold Devin Frischknecht from a wide receiver into a offensive threat at tight end. Frischknecht, who signed a Division I scholarship with Washington State at the conclusion of his sophomore season, was a JC Gridwire All-American. In addition, he was the WSFL 1st Team All-Conference selection at tight end and was the 2006 Top of the Mountains Bowl MVP. Frischknecht tallied 54 receptions for 763 yards and tallied 9 touchdown scores.

And while Frischknecht made a significant impact, Tai Murray who was the Badgers second tight end played at a
high enough level to earn a scholarship to Dixie State following the 2006 season.

Snow College is Gerber’s second coaching position while he first jumped into the profession as an assistant for Olympus High in 2001. In Gerber’s only year with the Titans, he helped assist towards a 10-2 record and a region championship.

As a player, Gerber played for two seasons at Brigham Young University before back injuries cut short his playing career. During his prep career, Gerber starred for Olympus High (Salt Lake City, UT) as a football and basketball player.

Gerber’s hometown is Salt Lake City, Utah. He is single and resides in Ephraim.
