Badgers Beat #5 Team

For the first time since 1999, the Snow College men’s basketball team is ranked in the NJCAA national poll. Snow enters the latest poll being ranked #18.

Snow College (21-7 overall, 13-5 conference) was able to advance into the poll after beating the College of Southern Idaho who was previously ranked #5.

The Badgers knocked off the Southern Idaho two nights in a row this past weekend. In game 1 Snow defeated Southern Idaho by a score of 98-76 and followed up that performance with a 77-75 win in game 2.

Geoff Payne, a sophomore forward from Sandy, Utah leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 21.7 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Jake Peterson, a sophomore guard from South Jordan, Utah leads the team in assists with 5.3 per game.

The Badgers are coached by Roger Reid. Reid, in his second season at the helm, has a 38-21 record overall as head coach at Snow College. He has over 30 years of coaching experience and has had stops as Head Coach at Brigham Young and as an assistant for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

The Badgers will be in action again this weekend versus Colorado Northwestern. They travel to Colorado to finish the regular season with games on Friday and Saturday night. The tip-off for each contest is at 7:30 PM. Check back right here at snowbadgers.com for game results and summaries.
