BADGERS DOMINATE EASTERN UTAH
by Tyler Hughes Badgers Play Great Team Ball Win 93-73 A night after Snow won an incredibly tight ball game over Eastern Utah in the final seconds; Snow opted for a less dramatic finish while dominating the Golden Eagles for 40 minutes of play. Snow picked up the victory by a score of 93-73. Eastern Utah scored first putting Snow behind 2-0, but Snow commanded the game from then on. Snow earned a couple of transition buckets early on which were one of many ways Snow was able to post points on the board. Snow tallied 17 fast break points in the 1st half. Eastern had difficulty keeping up with Snow as they looked worn out from their loss on Friday night. Snow was able to jump out to a 39-14 lead in the early going. Snow played great team basketball while displaying excellent ball movement that allowed for their shooters to have clean looks that they were able to capitalize on. Snow’s top ball distributor was point guard Jake Peterson who led the team with 9 assists while also chipping in 19 points including four jumpers from beyond the arc. Snow consistently frustrated Eastern Utah while leading by double digits for 36 minutes of the game. One of the great sequences of the night was when Badger guard Rick Roberts blocked two shots on the same possession with the second leading to a fast-break in which Roberts was the beneficiary of his own great defense when he was found in the corner at the end of the break for a huge 3-pointer. The Badgers shot an incredible 66% from the field for the night. This great shooting allowed Snow to have six players in double figures. Top scored Geoff Payne had 20 while Cris Hoopes added 15. Tyler Quinney contributed 12 points and was the team’s top rebounder with six. Snow as a team outrebounded Eastern Utah on consecutive nights with 31 boards to the Eagles 20. Snow improved to 12-4 overall and to 4-2 in the conference while picking
up back-to-back wins over Eastern Utah. The Badgers will travel next
weekend as they take on Southern Idaho on Friday and Saturday evening.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM for both games.
