BADGERS COAST TO WIN OVER CNCC
by Tyler Hughes Badgers Back On Winning Road - Win 110-68 The Snow College basketball team was back on the winning road on Friday night with a 110-68 win over the Colorado Northwest Spartans. At the offensive end of the floor, Snow College was clicking in every way imaginable. They utilized a solid combination of inside and outside shooting which were simply too much for the Spartans. Snow’s size in the paint was also apparent as they outrebounded CNCC by a margin of 53-25. In the early going, the Spartans had no answer for Geoff Payne who tallied 19 before the break and 9 rebounds. The Badgers; however, faced a scary moment right before the half as the SWAC Player of the Year was tangled up and came down awkwardly with a knee injury. Payne did not return, but he could return tomorrow as the injury was not deemed too serious. At the intermission Snow led by a margin of 55-38 and any hope by CNCC for a 2nd half rally was quickly squashed as Snow started the half on a 19-4 run with six Badgers contributing to the scoring in that span. Snow continued the rout as they eclipsed the century mark while taking a 40 point lead at 100-60 on a spectacular fast break finished by a one-hand dunk by freshman guard, Brian Cameron over a Spartan defender. The Badgers had six players in double figures. The top scorer was Payne with 19 followed by Adrien Sturt with 16. John Clifford added 13 and also contributed 12 boards. Snow has improved their record to 13-6 overall and to 5-4 in conference
play.
