RECAP AT SOUTHERN IDAHO by Tyler Hughes Badgers Hold CSI To Lowest Of The Season - Lose 72-76 Snow College hit the road this past weekend to play conference leader, the College of Southern Idaho. It was a tough weekend for Snow but they did show the necessary resolve needed to compete with some of the best in the country. FRIDAY NOTES A tightly contested game became wide open in the 2nd half as Southern Idaho was able to pull away while hitting eleven 3-pointers and by generating 50 points off of turnovers for the game. Southern Idaho won the game 118-85, but the Badgers were highlighted by a 31 point performance by Geoff Payne. Payne shot 70% from the field. Rick Roberts was also able to reach double figures scoring 13 points. SATURDAY NOTES Snow outplayed Southern Idaho in many ways while limiting the Eagles to only 27% shooting from beyond the arc, which is significantly below their average. The ball game featured 8 lead changes and the score was tied 15 different times as the Badgers battled every step of the way. A major contributing factor toward’s Snow success was that they were able to slow the game down and take care of the basketball. This kept Southern Idaho out of rhythm and away from the type of basketball they like to play. Snow’s scoring was led by Jake Peterson with 21, followed Geoff Payne with 19. The weekend of basketball dropped Snow to 12-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. They look to get back on track against Colorado Northwestern this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
