SNOW COLLEGE TO HOST SWAC TOURNAMENT

Snow College will be the host school for the annual Scenic West Athletic Conference basketball tournament. The dates of the tournament will be from March 7th thru the 10th.

Snow has earned the right to host the tournament with the men’s team winning the SWAC title. Coach Roger Reid’s ball club finished out the regular season at an impressive 23-7 overall and 15-5 conference record.

The College of Southern Idaho and Snow College actually shared the regular season conference title as they both finished at 15-5 in conference play. The tie-breaker was awarded to Snow College; however, SWAC rules gave CSI the number one seed in the tournament, while Snow is seeded at the two slot.

Rounding out the men’s bracket has Salt Lake Community College holding the three spot, the College of Eastern Utah at four, North Idaho at five and Colorado Northwestern at six.

In the women’s bracket, Salt Lake Community College was the regular season conference champs and as a result, will be the number one ranked team heading into the tournament. The College of Southern Idaho finished as the 2nd place team. Both Salt Lake and Southern Idaho will have a 1st round bye.

North Idaho is the third seed for the women’s bracket with Eastern Utah, Snow College and Colorado Northwestern finishing four, five and six respectively.
