BADGERS SUFFER TOUGH LOSS TO CEU
by Tyler Hughes Badgers And Eagles Were Neck-And-Neck But Lose 78-84 With Snow College playing their second game in as many nights, they faced the Golden Eagles of Eastern Utah. The Badgers and Eagles were neck-and-neck throughout the ball game; however, Snow College was unable to pick up the victory while losing 84-78. “We played well throughout, but we weren’t able to close the game out. Finishing games the way you would like is what we need to improve upon,” said Badger Head Coach, Michael Ostlund. Coach Ostlund saw his team lead by four points with just under three minutes to play; however, turnovers on consecutive possessions followed by the Golden Eagles capitalizing on Badger mistakes led to a late deficit that Snow was unable to overcome down the stretch. And while Snow didn’t pick up the victory they certainly had many positives in which they will continue to build on as the season progresses. Rene Farias continued his dominant play on the offensive end of the court. Farias netted 30 points for the Badgers which was a game high. In addition, Snow College shot 54.4% from the field as their offensive game continues to impress. With the defeat the Badgers drop to a 10-8 overall record with a 1-2 conference mark. Snow will face tremendous competition this weekend when they play host to two of the nation’s top teams. On Friday night the Badgers play the nations number two ranked team in Southern Idaho (7:30 PM) and #22 ranked North Idaho on Saturday afternoon (3:30 PM). The games can be heard locally on KMTI-Am 650 and right here on SnowBadgers.com.
