Badgers Take Cardinals 73-68

The Snow Badgers looking to get back on track while hosting North Idaho on Saturday afternoon saw one of their top defensive performances of the season pave the way for a 73-68 win over the Cardinals.

The Badgers have been able to score in bunches during the 2007-08 season as they are averaging 84.15 points per game however it was their defensive efforts that led to their most recent win.

North Idaho connected on just 36.7% of their field goal attempts including 6-28 from three point land. The Badgers stifled North Idaho continuously and prevented them from getting into any type of offensive rhythm. They also limited the Cardinals second chance opportunities while allowing just seven offensive rebounds.

Snow College saw Rory Patterson have a great outing as he scored 16 for the Badgers while also pulling down 8 rebounds. His leadership at both ends of the floor helped propel the Badgers to the win.

“We needed to play well this afternoon to get a win. I think we did that and we need to continue to build on the things we did today,” said Coach Michael Ostlund who is in first season at the helm for the Badgers.

With the win, Snow College improved to 11-9 overall with a 2-3 conference record. The conference race will begin to truly heat up with two contests at #3 Salt Lake Community College this weekend.

Snow will be in action on Friday evening with a 7:30 PM tip-off and on Saturday afternoon with a 3:30 PM start time. Both games can be heard locally on KMTI-Am 650 and right here on www.snowbadgers.com.
