WITH THREE TOURNEY WINS by Greg Dart Snow Mens Basketball Team Has Won Five In A Row, Six Of Last Seven EPHRAIM - The Snow College Mens Basketball team is on a hot streak, winning six of its last seven and five in a row following three victories over the weekend in the North Idaho tournament, held in Coeur dAlene. Snow had no trouble in its opponents at the tournament, winning by an average of 23 points. Snow started the tournament Thursday with a 99-57 victory over Grant MacEwen College from Alberta, Canada. Rene Farias scored 24 points to lead the Badgers and Rory Patterson added 18. Snow shot 67 percent from the field, holding Grant MacEwen to 32 percent. We were able to move the ball really well, said head coach Michael Ostlund. We are cutting down on our turnovers and continuing to shoot the ball well. Friday night the Badgers took down Green River Community College (Washington) 86-77. Farias had 20 points and seven assists, Ryan Brimley had 14 points (including four three pointers) and Patterson and David Slezak each had 12 points. Christian Wouden also finished with 10 rebounds for the Badgers. On Saturday, Snow beat Edmonds Community College (Washington) 84-67 behind a 21 point, seven rebound performance by Patterson. Snow committed only 12 turnovers for the game and held Edmonds to 36 percent shooting. I think we came away with a lot more confidence, said Ostlund, whose Badgers are now 6-3. We know we can play with anyone and we are playing well together as a team. The Badgers are back on the road for the Trinidad Tournament (Colorado) set for Friday and Saturday.
