SWAC TOURNAMENT

EPHRAIM - The Snow College Men and Women are regrouping this week and preparing for the Scenic West Athletic Conference tournament in Price.

After a disappointing weekend at Salt Lake Community College which saw both teams drop close battles the Badgers seem ready for the "second season".

"Everything resets," said Badgers Head Coach Michael Ostlund. "We have talked about trying to be really good for three days in March. Now is the time."

The Badgers finished a the season with a disappointing 4-16 conference record but one only has to see the close finishes to know that this young team may very well be a factor in Price this weekend.

Snow defeated the College of Eastern Utah in Price earlier in the season and lost 72-71 earlier in the season to Conference Champion North Idaho College. The fact they were as competitive as they were with only one real Sophomore on the team speaks to the difficulty of the conference and the resiliency of the Badgers.

"I like the way our kids are battling," said Ostlund. "We will be a tough out at the tournament."

The Badgers are led by Sophomore Jordan Wood who is coming off back to back 30-point games against Salt Lake Community College on Thursday and Saturday nights. In those games Wood connected on 15-23 from three-point range and consistently kept Snow in the games.

"I think he earned himself a terrific scholarship at the next level," Ostlund said of Wood's weekend performance. "This is the time when Sophomores rise to the occasion and he has certainly done that."
