LADY BADGERS GET FOUR LOSSES
by Gary Chidester

Prove They Can Play With The Best

For those that just look at the scores of this weekends four losses the Snow College badgers suffered against Salt lake Community College, the full story may never be known. Yes, Snow College lost all four games, 16-5, 7-1, 3-2 and 9-1, but the Badgers proved they can play with the best in the league.

The Bruins came into this weekends games undefeated and in first place in the SWAC. The Badgers struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Gave up four in the top of the third, but came back with another in the bottom of the inning and trailed by just one run going into the top of the sixth. That's when the Bruins ended all hope with ten runs in two innings.

Game two had the Badgers within one run again heading into the latter innings. Trailing 2-1 going into the top of the sixth, the Bruins scored five in the last two innings to ice the win.

Saturday and the Badgers again played very hard, but lost 3-2 and then 9-1. Snow College has two weekends left at home and tough road games to Dixie, North Idaho, Salt Lake and Colorado on the schedule.

In game one, McKell Shurtliff started the scoring with a two run home run over the left field fence. Eight hits for the Badgers were spread among eight different hitters, but only three of the runs were earned.

Game two saw McKenna Nielson, Shae Peery and Shurtliff each had two hits and the lone run was knocked in by Kristin McCuistion.

This week the Badgers will be in Rangley, Colorado to play the Lady Spartans. The Badgers are currently in fourth place in the SWAC standings.
