![]() Coach Les Calles E-mail: Les.Calles@Snow.Edu Phone: (435) 283-7036 Mail: 150 East College Ave. Ephraim, Utah 84627 Coach Les Calles, entering his 11th season as Head Volleyball Coach, is the longest tenured coach in the Athletic Department. The stability and dependability that he has brought to the program has proved to be a major asset for Snow College. During eleven seasons at the helm, Coach Calles has generated many wins. This performance has enabled Snow College Volleyball to be a highly successful program in the NJCAA ranks. As Coach Calles embarks on his 11th season at the helm, his impact upon Badger Volleyball has been immense. He has seen numerous teams play at a highly competitive level which has allowed multiple players to move on to four year institutions. Former Badgers have been able to continue their playing careers for Utah, Utah State, Weber State, Utah Valley and Dixie State. He has also seen others move on to Eastern Washington and to Atlantic Coast Conference stalwart, the University of Virginia. As a player, Calles enjoyed a very successful career. Originally he signed with BYU-Hawaii. He was a member of the Seasiders winning success from 1980-84. Calles moved to Provo at the conclusion of his playing days and he was able to continue his career at a player with Brigham Young University. BYU volleyball at the time was not considered as an NCAA sanctioned sport, which enabled him to continue playing. During the 86-87 and 87-88 seasons Calles was a member of BYU’s club team which enabled him to contribute towards two national championships. Calles received his Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from BYU-Hawaii and he received his Master’s from Brigham Young University in Ceramics. Originally from Hilo, Hawaii, Calles is married to the former Lisa John. The couple has two sons in Taj and Keanu. They reside in Orem, Utah.
