Defeat In-State Rival 78-72

The Lady Badgers utilized a gritty performance to pick up their first win at Eastern Utah in over three seasons. A tough victory saw Snow College defeat their in-state rival by a score of 78-72.

Any time a road victory is attained, particularly against a conference opponent, sophomore leadership and production is necessary. The Lady Badgers were able to receive that with sophomore forward Cori Nielson scoring a team-high 17 points.

Nielson’s performance sparked the Badger win, however she was not alone. Chelsey Brown, another sophomore added 14 while burying four three-pointers for Snow College. Finally, Lindsie Wilson rounded out the outing from these three sophomores while adding 11 points while pulling down 8 rebounds.

In addition, the Lady Badgers were stout on the defensive end as well. Their defensive efforts held Eastern Utah to a paltry 27.1% shooting from the field. Eastern Utah, unable to get to the basket settled for 31 three point attempts while connecting on just six of them.

“It was a great win for us. To pick up two conference wins on one weekend is big,” said Coach Cindy Lindsay.

The Lady Badgers will be in action next weekend while facing Southern Idaho on Friday evening and North Idaho on Saturday.
