LADY BADGERS WIN BOTH TOURNEY GAMES
by Greg Dart Hodgkiss Nailed Basket At Buzzer To Win 70-69 With 5.8 seconds remining, Buetler dribbled down the right sideline and hit Hodgkiss who’s shot bounced twice on the rim before falling through sending the Lady Badgers to center court to celebrate. Trailing by double digits for most of the second half the Lady Badgers closed the game with a 10-1 run which included the Hodgkiss dagger. “The kids just hung in there and continued to battle,” said head coach Cindy Lindsay. “Even when we were down our kids just continued to fight and claw their way back into it. They didn’t hang their heads when and just kept working.” Sophomore Torle Nenbe led the Lady Badgers with a huge 22 point, 14-rebound performance. Hodgkiss chipped in with 13. Playing without leading scorer Amy Parkinson who had three wisdom teeth pulled earlier in the week, the Lady Badgers started off cold going almost five minutes before scoring their first points. Abby Cook led the surge with three 3-point buckets in a 10 minute stretch. Nenbe caught fire and finished with 18 points to lead the Badgers. With the two victories the Lady Badgers stand at 4-5 and now hit the road for virtually the entire month of December. They kick off the road trip with games at Air Force Prep Academy on Thursday followed be a Saturday night contest against Northwest Wyoming.
