LADY BADGERS KNOCK OFF
TREASURE VALLEY 72-52

by Rick White

Even Record At 6-6

Back in pre-season Coach Cindy Lindsay knew she would have to rely heavily on the inside play of undersized Sophomore Torle Nenbee. The 5-foot 7-inch Sophomore from Nigeria continued her dominating play again Saturday night scoring 18 points in leading the Lady Badgers to a 72-52 over Treasure Valley Community College.

The 18 points marks the third time in the last four games Nenbee has scored 18 or more and her explosiveness around the basket has given Lindsay several new options.

“We need Torle to be active because that creates so many opportunities individually and for her teammates,” said Lindsay. “She has really helped us stabilize our inside game in the face of injuries and illness.”

Snow played without Linsey Hodgkiss and Amy Parkinson (two of the leading scorers Saturday night). However, Sophomores Taesha Higbee (14 points), Shaylee Nielsen and Cami Hymas (eight points each) picked up the load and helped carry the Lady Badgers to their third win in the past four outings.

“There is an opportunity for kids to step up when players are out,” said Lindsay. “Tonight it was Taesha, Shay and Cami. We are going to need them when we hit conference.”

Snow College will next host Team Utah on December 30th at 5:30 before finishing the pre-season with road games at Central and Western Wyoming on January 2-3.
