SNOW COLLEGE DEMORALIZES BMCC
By Kevin White Lady Badgers Start New Year With A Confident Win PENDLETON - Blue Mountain faced a stern test in Snow College on New Year's Day and found itself on the ropes early in the first half as the Badgers leapt out to a 29-4 lead. The Timberwolves used an 18-3 run of their own to make it 31-22 at the half, but Snow quickly established itself as soon as play resumed and cruised to a 71-43 win at Mosby Court. "In the second half they just put the hammer on us," said BMCC head coach Christy Martin. "We just gave up. It was more disappointing than any of our other losses this year." The Badgers were led by Sammie Jensen's game-high 15 points and seven rebounds. On Saturday, the Lady Badgers continued their winning ways with a 71-41 thumping of Treasure Valley Community College. Sophomore Abbie Beutler had seven points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a terrific all-around performance. Tara Gehring led the Lady Badgers with 14 points and six rebounds. Jensen and Lindsey Hodgkiss each contributed 10 points. With the victories the Lady Badgers improved their overall record to 10-5 and look to improve on their 2-4 conference mark this weekend at Colorado Northwest and CEU.
