Lady Badgers Fall 62-64 At The Buzzer

EPHRAIM - In what may have been the biggest night in Snow College women's basketball in several years, the Salt Lake Community College Lady Bruins Jamie Mokofisi dropped in a layup at the buzzer to dash the Lady Badgers heart 64-62.

Snow, down 60-50 with under two minutes remaining staged a furious comeback and when Sophomore point guard Abbie Beutler nailed a three with 9 seconds remaining the Lady Badgers had finally caught SLCC.

Instead of calling timeout, SLCC raced the ball up the floor and Haley Holmstead dished off to Mokofisi for the game-winner.

Holmstead led the Lady Bruins with 23 points while Beutler equaled Holmestead with 23 of her own for the Lady Badgers.

The game marked the final home game for Sophomores Beutler, Linsey Hodgkiss, Tara Gehring, Amy Weitzel and Amanda Farish.

SLCC moves to 15-4 in the conference and 23-5 overall while the Lady Badgers fall to 12-7 and 21-8 overall,

The two square off again Saturday night in Salt Lake before both head to Price for the Scenic West Athletic Conference tournament.
