Cindy Lindsay returns to Snow College for her third season. Lindsay has energized this basketball program through her dynamic ability to recruit and teach. She brings with her 15 years of coaching experience and has been successful at all levels of coaching. Lindsay has successfully directed Snow’s recruiting, signing some of the nations finest talent. Since coming to Snow she has directly impacted the success of the program.

“I came to Snow because I have always had a great deal of respect for the program, and because I wanted to build a national powerhouse. I see working here at Snow College as an opportunity to see this goal to fruition”.

Lindsay grew up in Orem, where she excelled at Orem High School, leading the Tigers to a state championship. Cindy was an all-around athlete, also excelling in volleyball and track (taking second in state in javelin).

Following Orem High, Lindsay played for the University of Utah from 1985-1989 under the direction of current Coach Elaine Elliott. Lindsay also played one year of volleyball following her basketball career. Her basketball teams won the High Country Athletic Conference three of her four years and made two NCAA appearances. She was chosen as an All-Conference player and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Lindsay graduated in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in coaching.

In 1986, Lindsay was chosen as an alternate for the Junior Olympic Team along with future Utah Starzz forward Natalie Williams. Lindsay coached at Taylorsville High School and then took her talents to Idaho, coaching volleyball at Marsh Valley High and basketball at Idaho State University. She also served as assistant director of the First Security State Games of Idaho.

In 1994, Lindsay joined the Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) program as the assistant coach. The 1994-95 Vikings placed fifth in the national tournament. After three successful seasons at Ricks, Lindsay joined the BYU coaching staff under the direction of Trent Shippen and was instrumental in rejuvenating the program to national prominence. While coaching at BYU, Lindsay tried out for the Women’s National Basketball Association and made it to the final cut with the Detroit Shock.

Lindsay is a successful recruiter throughout her coaching career she has signed a USA Today Athlete of the year, Parade All-Americans, and McDonald All-Americans. Three of her recruits were named conference newcomer of the year in three consecutive years. She has recruited internationally as well as throughout the United States.

Lindsay has had the opportunity to see many of her players move on to new levels. She has players who have played overseas and in the WNBA. Lindsay sees one of her greatest accomplishments in helping 4 players from last years’ team move on to playing at the next level. “These student-athletes came to be students at Snow College we turned them into athletes”. “They gave everything, it was amazing that here they were with raw talent and we were able to help them move on and continue their college careers”.

Lindsay resides in Ephraim with her seven-year-old son, Carson. She is the daughter of Dale and Barbara Lindsay. She served a volunteer mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1990-1991.
