The Lady Badgers Stay Within Striking Distance Of CSI

The Snow College Lady Badgers picked up two big wins over the weekend to make it three wins in the last two weeks against Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC). With the wins, 54-43 on Friday and 68-49 on Saturday, the Badgers stay within striking distance of league leader College of Southern Idaho.

"I just want to see the girls play to their potential," said Head coach Larry Shurtliff. "I think they are making some excellent progress in that direction."

Snow College led by three at halftime on Friday, but the defense shutdown the Lady Spartans in the second half as the rolled to the win. Leading the defensive stand wqas Ashley brown coming off the bench to block four shots, score eight points and pull down eight rebounds.

"We are getting better play off our bench," said Shurtliff. "I think we'll need contributions from everyone on the team if we want to win in this conference."

Meridee Spendlove had 15 points in the Friday night contest. Kristina Peterson added nine points and six steals.

Saturday the Spartans stayed with the Badgers for the first half, but were put away early in the second half behind 16 points from Andrea Durrant, 15 points from Rana McMurtrey and 13 points from Peterson.

Snow College finds themselves with a tough roadtrip this week as they face Salt Lake Community College. The Bruins had a bye week this week to prepare to avenge a road loss to the badgers a few weeks ago.
